An Easy at Home Treat

If I ever see a lavender-flavored or anything on a menu, you bet I will pick it. Two of my favorite treats to indulge in are lavender lattes and lavender gelato. And while I haven’t mastered gelato making, this lavender latte is so easy I have been making it on repeat.

  • Level up your latte game at home.
  • No need to run to Starbucks or your nearest coffeeshop for a tasty treat.
  • Cozy up with a soft blanket and enjoy a soothing lavender latte.
  • Impress any guests with this simple recipe.

Serve with a cherry scone or peach cobbler cookies for the ultimate treat.

Ingredients

  • espresso: this standard latte recipe uses a double shot of espresso. You can use non-caffeinated if you like or strong coffee. I use the Bianco Doppio from Nespresso in my latte.
  • milk: use whatever milk you have on hand. Whether dairy or non-dairy like making it with oat milk, almond milk, or soy, this will be delicious!
  • lavender simple syrup: this is so easy to make and takes very little hands-on prep. I like to make a batch and keep it on hand for whenever a latte craving strikes. Add as much or as little as you like. To make a honey lavender latte, try making your simple syrup with honey.

In the summer, serve this over ice for a refreshing treat. Or try subbing the espresso for Earl Grey tea and the vanilla for lavender simple syrup for a wonderful spin on a London Fog.

You will also need a milk frother.

How to Make a Lavender Latte at Home

  1. Prepare your espresso.
  2. Froth your milk.
  3. Gently stir everything together.

In a pinch, you can do strongly brewed coffee (I set my coffee machine to the smallest coffee it will make) and add it all in place of the espresso.

If you do not have a milk frother, you can add the milk to a small saucepan and heat until warmed through. (Or if you are really desperate, like me when I want this latte, you can microwave the milk and it will be just fine!)

    1. I use the smallest setting on my coffee machine (6 ounces) but strongly brewed coffee between 4 and 8 ounces would work just fine!
