Easy Jalapeno Popper Dip
Jalapeno popper dip is my all-time favorite appetizer. For as many years as I can remember when there are being appies served I have always asked my mom to make this one which inspired this recipe, or brought it myself 😉
- A burst of bold and spicy delish flavors
- This dip is a crowd-pleaser
- A perfect make-ahead appetizer.
- Adjust the level of spiciness by adding or removing the amount of jalapenos
Ingredients
- cream cheese: use room temperature cream cheese for the fluffiest results and easiest time blending.
- sour cream: opt for a regular, full-fat sour cream for a rich and creamy texture. You can swap this fro plain Greek yogurt or mayonnaise.
- garlic powder
- pickled jalapenos: pickled jalapenos provide a tangy and spicy kick to the dip. Adjust the quantity based on your heat tolerance. You can also use fresh jalapenos, but they should be roasted, seeded, and finely chopped for the right flavor and texture.
- cheddar cheese: use sharp cheddar cheese for more flavor. You can also experiment with different cheese varieties, like pepper jack. I always recommend shredding your own cheese for the best results.
- parmesan cheese: freshly grated parmesan cheese adds a wonderful flavor to this dip.
- topping: the topping on this dip is a Panko bread crumb topping which adds a great crunch.
Variations: swap the Panko topping for crushed up Ritz crackers. Leave off the topping or switch for a handful of cheddar cheese for a keto/low-carb option.
You will also need a hand mixer or stand mixer and an 8 x 8-inch baking pan.
What to Serve with Jalapeno Popper Dip
My absolutely favorite is tortilla chips, but you can serve popper dip with so many things!
- tortilla chips
- crackers
- celery
- sliced baguette
- veggies sticks such as carrots, peppers, and cucumber
- pretzel bites
How to Make Jalapeno Popper Dip
- Whip together the cream cheese, sour cream, and garlic powder until fluffy.
- Stir in pickled jalapenos and cheeses.
- Sprinkle on topping and bake until heated through and bubbling.
This can be made ahead. Prep the cream cheese filling and keep the topping on the side. Put the topping on right before baking. If baking straight from the refrigerator it may need an extra few minutes.
Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 4 days.
