Easy Black Bean Brownies
- This healthy snack is chocolatey, ooey, gooey goodness in every bite
- Less than 5 minutes of prep time to make this treat.
- Naturally gluten-free and dairy free!
Ingredients
- Black Beans: This is the healthy star of the show. They make these brownies fudgy but also full of nutrients.
- Oats
- Maple Syrup
- Vegetable Oil
- Cocoa Powder
- Vanilla Extract
- Baking Powder
- Salt
- Chocolate Chips: any chocolate chips can be used here. I often use milk chocolate chips because they are my favorite, but semi-sweet work well. Try peanut butter chips for a fun twist!
You will also need a food processor or high powered blender and an 8×8 baking pan.
How to Make Black Bean Brownies
- Add all ingredients, except chocolate chips, in a blender or food processor. Blend until smooth.
- Stir in chocolate chips.
- Spread in baking pan. Bake.
Cool the brownies before cutting for best results.
Tips and Tricks
Let the brownies fully cool before trying to cut otherwise they may not set. It’s hard to resist but they will be easier to eat this way!
Store these brownies in an airtight container for up to 5 days in the refrigerator.

Black Bean Brownies Recipe
Equipment
- 8×8 baking pan
Ingredients
- 1 15 oz can black beans drained and rinsed very well, approximately 1 ½ cups
- ½ cup oats
- ½ cup maple syrup
- ¼ cup vegetable oil
- 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- ½ teaspoon baking powder
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ⅔ cup chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Prepare a 8×8 baking pan.
- Combine all ingredients except chocolate chips in a high powered blender or food processor. Blend until smooth.
- Stir in chocolate chips. Spread in prepared baking pan.
- Bake for 15-18 minutes. Cool before serving to firm up.
