Ingredients

Making DIY pistachio syrup starts with the basic ingredients of a simple syrup: water and sugar. Then add pistachios for the wonderful pistachio flavor.

  • sugar
  • water
  • pistachios: I use roasted and salted pistachios for this recipe. If using unsalted I would add a pinch of salt.
  • almond extract: It complements the pistachio flavor and can enhance the overall taste, but it’s not necessary if you prefer a pure pistachio flavor. I do find it very strong, so start with a small amount and add more as you like.

You will also need a saucepan and a fine mesh strainer.
