The only thing more fun than shopping for myself is shopping for my toddler. Here is what is on my inspiration list.
1. DUPLO OR MEGABLOKS LEGO KIT:
Lego is a great gift for toddlers for many reasons. It can inspire hours of play and imagination. I think bulk Lego is great, but we have also been loving the Lego kits. My toddler can follow the step-by-step books completely on his own. It’s also fun when you can find themed ones like Paw Patrol or Cars to play into their interests.
2. PLAYDOUGH:
Similar to the Lego kits, playdough can inspire hours of imaginative play but you can also have kits to cater to their interest.
3. WOODEN RAINBOW:
This toy is a 100% imaginative toy. Perfect to spark creativity.
4. STRIDER BIKE:
This was our big gift to our toddler last year and has been one of the best purchases we’ve ever made. It encourages outdoor time. He likes to bike ride with his friends out front. And it has made going on family walks easier because he loves to bring his bike. Watching him progress has been amazing!
5. PUZZLES:
My son has recently started building puzzles and it’s a fun activity you can do as a family. A good starter for 2-year-olds is this 2-piece puzzle kit. And then you can work your way up!
6. WOOD BLOCK SET:
We have spent hours and hours recently building different towers, using our creative skills, and having family fun. We liked this one so much we asked for a second set for Christmas!
7. ART SUPPLIES:
This is a great option for the kid who has everything because it’s a consumable product so even if they have it, they could use more. Get creative and include anything from markers to paint to pom poms to stickers. For the ultimate art gift, give this gift of an easel!
8. WOODEN TRAIN SET:
While this is an investment, it has been our most played-with toy this year. The wooden tracks are WAY easier than the plastic ones for the littles to manipulate and build tracks with. I love watching his imagination when he’s playing with his wooden tracks.
9. PLAY GARAGE:
Similar to the train set, little cars have been a big hit and inspire hours of play. Whether he’s in the garage or playing on his floor car mat his imagination is going wild. It’s also easy to add to the collection of matchbox cars either in stockings or as presents anytime.
10. BOOKS:
I couldn’t not include books. We try to encourage reading as much as possible and giving books can spark the excitement. A few of our favorites right now are The Very Cranky Bear, The Golden Goal, and I Love All of Me.
11. CLEANING SET:
This is the gift that surprised me how much use it got. My son has used this kit so much!
12. SHAPE SORTING TRUCK:
We have all kind of trucks and this is one of our all time favs.
13. DOCTOR PLAY KIT:
It has been so fun watching him learn how to play with his doctor kit. Not only is it fun but it’s a great way to prep for real life doctor visits 😉
14. TODDLER CAMERA:
I am SO excited for my toddler to receive this camera at Christmas. He is obsessed with taking pictures on my phone, I know he’s going to love it!
Stocking Stuffers
And of course I couldn’t forget stocking stuffers! Stockings are one of my favorite parts of Christmas morning. I love looking for little trinkets and inexpensive things that I can fill the stocking with.
Pro Stocking Tip! When you grab things that have multiples (for example a playdough pack or a book collection) break it apart and wrap each item individually.
Here are some things I am grabbing this year…
Art Supplies
Toys
- Matchbox Cars
- Books (my son LOVES these Paw Patrol books and you could easily take them out of the box and wrap them individually)
- Individual Playdough Pots
- On-The-Go Activity Kit
- Fubbles (No Spill Bubbles)
- Santa Pez
- Suction Spinner
- Bath Crayons
- Pop It
Practical Stuffers
Happy Christmas Shopping!
