Bullet Journal for Beginner’s Series: Part 7B (Monthly Plan With Me)

Welcome to a bullet journal for beginners guide! Bullet journalling may seem overwhelming at first but this series will guide you through the ins and outs and you’ll be ready to start your own bullet journal in no time!

This is part 7 of the series! In this part of the series I am going to do a monthly plan with me! I will go through how I set up a monthly spread.

For my annual set up, in Part 7A, I did not do much of a theme. I save my themes for my monthly spreads. Often my monthly theme inspiration will come from seasonal or holiday ideas. For example in December I like to do Christmas related themes, in February I like to do Valentine’s day themes, and in July and August I will do really fun summer themes filled with flowers or beach days or camping!

Theme ideas can also come from other inspiration such as things you love. For example if you love a certain TV show or Disney you could do character based themes. My November 2018 spread was coffee themed because I love coffee so much!

Title Page

As always I started with a “Hello January” title page. My January 2019 theme is snowy. We have been getting so much snow here and I have been feeling in awe of the beautiful snow so I thought I would transfer that to my bullet journal!

My January quote is “take time to make your soul happy”. The inspiration for this quote came from one of my 2019 goals. I really want 2019 to be a year where I am doing things for myself, taking care of myself, and figuring out my version of success.

Monthly Log

I cannot get enough of this horizontal monthly log! I love the way it gives me tons of room to write what task/event I want to track. I also like that it only takes up 1 page!

Goal Setting

This goal setting page is something new I am trying this year. In my annual plan with me I set up a goal setting page. To keep myself on track to these goals I am going to set monthly goals under the same four categories. The four categories I am using for my goal setting are: Personal, Health, Finance, and Business.

I also wanted a place in my monthly to track some blog measures and I thought my goal setting page would be a good place for this. At the end of the month I am going to track how many page views I had over the month. I am also going to track my instgram following over the month, facebook likes over the month, and pinterest stats.

Habit Tracker

My next spread is my habit tracker. I LOVE having individual little calendars to track each habit. I like the way it looks and I also find it makes each habit more visual.

Gratitude Log

My gratitude log is a very simple yet effective spread. This spread just gives me a line by line place to write down something I am grateful for everyday.

Weather Tracker/Work Hour Tracker

My weather tracker is just a fun spread. I like to be able to look back over a month and see what the weather is like.

I also have included a place to track how many hours I work at my day job. I can work long and crazy hours and I like to have some visibility into it at the end of the month.

Blog Ideas

This month I included a blog idea or a brain dump spread. This is just a quick place I can jot down blog ideas, Instagram inspiration, or can plan as needed.

Weekly Spread

Lastly I completed my first weekly spread.

This weekly spread is a variation on my classic weekly spread. I love the horizontal layout of this weekly spread. And I still have lots of room for my to do list, daily habit trackers, and my meal plan!

What Did I Use?

For this bullet journal spread I used:

Process Blue Tombow Marker 452 for majority of the blue .

Sky Blue Tombow Marker 451. This blue turned out to be really light so I used it as an accent color instead of a main color .

Pigma Micron 02, 03, and 05 for the black pen

What is your favorite spread when setting up your monthly?! Let me know if the comments!
